Why I’m building Sobi Forms
Every website needs forms. And often, you need them to do more than just send a basic message. You need conditional logic, smart workflows, and advanced fields.
The existing WordPress form builders are incredibly capable, but they often feel heavy, rigid, or overwhelming to configure. To get power, you usually have to compromise on speed and user experience.
I wanted something different for my own projects: a tool that is highly capable, but remains lightweight and intuitive. So, I decided to build Sobi Forms.
My goal isn’t to build a basic contact form utility, but a powerful form builder designed with a different philosophy:
- Simplicity by design: Advanced features shouldn’t require a complex interface. Sobi Forms balances power with a native WordPress UI that is clean, fast, and easy to configure.
- Lightweight architecture: A plugin that handles complex workflows efficiently, loading only what is strictly necessary without slowing down your website.
- Privacy & control: No third-party tracking or hidden call-homes. Your data stays safely inside your own WordPress database.
Current status
The plugin is currently being reviewed by the WordPress.org team to be added to the official directory.
While I wait for their feedback, I’m using this time to work on the next features—like adding password protection for specific forms and setting up automatic closing dates—while updating our public roadmap.
If you believe that powerful software can also be clean and easy to use, you can follow the journey here.
