Sobi 1.7.0 — Exports, Multi-Column Layouts & More

It took a bit longer than expected to ship this one… I started with one idea in mind, added a couple more, and well… classic scope creep! Anyway, it’s finally here: Sobi Forms 1.7.0 brings CSV & JSON exports, multi-column layouts, an inbox trash, inline links, form templates, plus a solid batch of polish and bug fixes.

Export submissions as CSV & JSON

Even though the plugin is fairly new, and I don’t expect you to have tens of thousands of submissions to offload just yet, having a reliable export tool is a must-have. It’s built to be rock-solid and run smoothly in the background without breaking your server. Just head over to Settings → Exports, pick your form, choose your format (CSV or JSON), and you’re good to go.

Multi-column layouts

You can now design forms with up to 3 columns. Perfect for placing fields side-by-side (like First Name | Last Name) to save vertical space. You can easily drag and resize column widths however you like, or double-click to equalize them.

Inbox trash (Soft delete)

Accidentally deleted an entry? No stress. You can now move submissions to the trash and restore them whenever you need to. Permanent deletes only happen if you purge them from the Trash view.

Inline links

You can now add links directly inside text paragraphs and checkbox labels. Super handy for linking to your Privacy Policy or Terms & Conditions right inside a consent checkbox. You can paste any external URL or pick an existing WordPress page directly from the link bubble.

Form templates

Want to get a quick feel for the plugin without building from scratch? You can now kickstart new forms using one of our built-in starters (Support Request, Quote, Job Application, Event Registration, or Simple Contact Form).

What’s next?

I’m planning to ship a quick v1.7.1 polish update in the next week or two to clean up the codebase, fix minor edge cases, and make everything feel even smoother.
