The problem
You collect emails in a WordPress form, then copy them into Brevo by hand—or pay for a connector plugin that only maps a few fields.
The solution
Sobi Forms has a native Brevo connector on the free plugin. Connect an API key once, then add a Brevo automation on any form: pick a list, map the email field, optionally map contact attributes from your Brevo account. Valid (non-spam) submissions create or update the contact—or trigger a Brevo confirmation email when double opt-in is enabled.
How to configure it
- In Brevo, create an API v3 key (Settings → SMTP & API → API keys). If the key is IP-restricted, allow your server IP (shown in Sobi Forms after you connect).
- Open Sobi Forms → Settings → Integrations → Brevo, paste the key, and click Test connection.
- Open the form → Automations → Add automation → Brevo.
- Choose a list, map the email field, optionally map contact attributes.
- Optionally enable Require double opt-in (see below).
- Click Add test contact if you want a dry run (uses the logged-in admin email).
- Save the form.
Double opt-in (free)
In the Brevo automation, turn on Require double opt-in. Brevo sends a confirmation email; the contact joins the list only after they click the link.
You also need:
- A double opt-in template in Brevo (Marketing → Templates) with a Double opt-in link button. Sobi Forms loads your active DOI templates in the automation picker.
- A redirect URL after confirmation (http or https)—where visitors land once they confirm.
Use Add test contact in the builder to send yourself a confirmation when DOI is enabled.
If DOI is on but the template or redirect URL is missing, the run is skipped and appears in Settings → Brevo → Logs.
Where to manage it
Sobi Forms → Settings → Brevo
- Settings — API key and connection test
- Logs — skipped, warning, and failed runs; Retry on API failures
Tips
- Without double opt-in, contacts are upserted immediately (
updateEnabled: true). - Pause an automation per form instead of disconnecting the site-wide key.
- Spam ingest never syncs. Marking a submission as not spam fires the automation once.
- Need Zapier or a custom API as well? Add a webhook on the same form.
- Pro later can add Only if conditions on automations (e.g. only if a consent checkbox is checked). Field-level conditional logic is already free.
